The DeLorean DMC-12, designed by John Z. DeLorean and styled by Giorgetto Giugiaro, entered production in Northern Ireland in 1981. Its brushed stainless-steel body and futuristic gullwing doors made it instantly recognisable - but its true fame came when chosen by Robert Zemeckis and Steven Spielberg as the time-travelling car in Back to the Future (1985).

Fitted with Doc Brown's flux capacitor and requiring 1.21 gigawatts of power to travel through time, the DeLorean became a cultural icon. Decades later, it remains one of cinema's most beloved vehicles - a symbol of imagination, innovation, and 1980s creativity.
