Introduction: This bespoke Honda S2000 scale model was built as a detailed replica of the customer's own car, using colour-matched Zero Paints for Honda Moon Rock, paint code NH676M, together with a colour-matched red interior. The build has also been fitted with 10-spoke Mugen MF-10 wheels, finished to match those fitted to the customer's real S2000. The result is a highly personalised scale replica that recreates the specific appearance and specification of the customer's car rather than a standard showroom version.
Scale: 1/24
Manufacturer: Tamiya
Materials: Base Kit, Colour-Matched "Moon Rock" paint finish (Zero Paints), Honda S2000 Detail Set (Hobby Design).
Background: Introduced in 1998 to celebrate Honda's 50th anniversary, the S2000 marked Honda's return to the front-engine, rear-wheel-drive two-seat sports car following the earlier S500, S600 and S800. Its classic long-bonnet, short-deck proportions were combined with modern styling, including wraparound headlights and a compact, purposeful body. At the heart of the S2000 was Honda's high-revving naturally aspirated 2.0-litre DOHC VTEC four-cylinder engine, producing more than 250 hp in its original Japanese-market specification and becoming one of the defining characteristics of the car.
Honda positioned the engine behind the front axle to achieve an ideal front-to-rear weight distribution, while a rigid body structure, four-wheel double-wishbone suspension and six-speed manual transmission gave the S2000 its renowned balance and driver involvement. Inside, the cabin featured supportive bucket seats, a distinctive digital instrument display and Honda's push-button engine start, reinforcing the car's combination of traditional sports-car character with contemporary technology.
This commissioned model has been specifically configured to replicate the customer's own S2000. Zero Paints colour-matched Honda Moon Rock NH676M reproduces the exterior colour, while the interior has been matched to the customer's red upholstery. The addition of Mugen MF-10 10-spoke wheels, accurately matched to the customer's real car, further distinguishes the model from a standard S2000 replica. Built around the Tamiya 1:24 Honda S2000 kit and enhanced with additional detailing, the finished model captures the individual specification of the customer's car in miniature.
