Introduction: This bespoke Toyota MR2 SW20 scale model was commissioned as a detailed replica of the customer's own Japanese-import MR2 SW20. The model has been finished in colour-matched Super Red II paint code 3E5 by Zero Paints and features the distinctive factory T-bar roof, original-style front bumper and rear spoiler, and factory silver five-spoke wheels. The right-hand-drive interior and customer's exact registration plate have also been reproduced, creating a highly personalised scale replica of the customer's specific vehicle rather than a generic MR2.

Background: Introduced in 1989, the second-generation Toyota MR2, designated SW20, represented a significant evolution of Toyota's compact mid-engined sports car. Its angular styling, pop-up headlights, short overhangs and distinctive side profile gave it the proportions and presence of a much larger sports car, while the mid-mounted layout and rear-wheel-drive configuration provided the foundations for its characteristic handling. The SW20 quickly established itself as one of the defining Japanese sports cars of the 1990s.
The Mk2 Rev 2 benefited from revisions to the suspension, steering and chassis tuning compared with earlier SW20 models, improving handling and driver confidence. The T-bar roof was also a distinctive factory option, combining removable roof panels with the fixed rear section and becoming one of the most recognisable features of the SW20. Alongside its distinctive styling, the combination of compact dimensions, mid-engine layout and rear-wheel drive gave the MR2 a character that set it apart from more conventional front-engined sports cars.
This commissioned model has been specifically configured to reproduce the customer's own Japanese-import SW20 Mk2 Rev 2. Finished in Super Red II, paint code 3E5, it features the factory-style front bumper, rear spoiler, silver five-spoke wheels and T-bar roof, together with a right-hand-drive interior reflecting its Japanese-market specification. The customer's exact registration plate has also been recreated, while the interior has been further personalised with a custom-wrapped Dragon-style steering wheel and matching gear knob. These bespoke details complete a highly personalised replica that captures the appearance and individual specification of the customer's car in miniature.
